Welcome to HRMA-New Orleans! Our nearly 300-strong membership of Human Resources professionals are just coming off our most active and honored year in our 45 years of existence. HRMA is on track to once again be honored as a “Superior Merit” chapter by SHRM, our 12th continuous year of earning this designation. We were also named “Louisiana Chapter of the Year” for 2008.
Of course, our most significant recognition was receiving a 2008 Pinnacle Award, SHRM’s highest recognition for innovative chapter programs. This honor demonstrates how HRMA has taken an active role in rebuilding our community post-Katrina. We have several volunteer and professional development initiatives in which you can take an active part. Check our Calendar of Events and attend our next Monthly Membership Meeting to find out about all the programs that are available for you!
Also, in 2009 we have the honor of hosting SHRM’s Annual Conference and Exposition in New Orleans. The Conference will be held June 28 – July 1 at the Morial Convention Center. HRMA’s role is to provide the many volunteers to help staff the Conference. If you are a Louisiana HR professional and a member of SHRM or a local affiliate, you can earn free attendance at the Conference by volunteering! If you are not yet a member of HRMA, click on “Membership” and “Join Us” to become eligible to volunteer and earn free Conference attendance.
